Online Viewing Help-Notes

To watch the above cable show online on Windows, I recommend opening the Windows Media Player (although you can use a different one if you prefer). You can find it by clicking on Start, Programs. Just open it up and minimize it. Then, when you go to the site for the TV show and click on the channel you want to watch, it will automatically find it. On the upper right of the video image itself, you will find two little buttons. One of them will make the image enlarge for Full Screen.

Below  are some help notes on how to watch the free cable TV show from a Mac, graciously prepared by my cool bro, Yosl (a/k/a Jack):

To play MMN video on the Mac, you need to have either Flip4Mac or Windows Media Player 9 for Max OS X.  Both are free.  Flip4Mac is more recent and is more versatile in that it lets you play the video either from within the web browser, within QuickTime Player (comes with the Mac) and/or in its own application.  Although, they sell many versions of Flip4Mac with various features, the free version is all that is needed to watch the streaming video.

It’s a bit tricky to find the free version on the Flip4Mac web site, so here is a link that will take you directly to it:
<http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/wmcomponents.mspx>
After downloading, just follow the simple instructions on the download page to install.  Most Mac users will not need any help as the installation is the same as with pretty much all Mac software.

Along with the Flip4Mac application, the basic installation includes the necessary QuickTime components and also installs the web browser plugin.  In order for the plug-in to work, you must shut down the browser, then restart it.

To view channel 34/82 - the one showing Shoshke-Rayzl – click the link on the left side of the MNN web page under Watch MNN Live / popup players.  Both the http and the mms links work equally well.

Although the free version of Flip4Mac is not supposed to have the ability to save streaming video to disk.  I was able to save the stream without problems and to play it back later on QuickTime Player.

Windows Media Player 9 for Max OS X:
This is the older way of doing things.  Microsoft now recommends using Flip4Mac, but WMP still works.  It actually contains many of the same components as Flip4Mac.  You can download it at:
<http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/AllDownloads.aspx?displang=en&qstechnology=>

Hope this is helpful.  I’ve tested the procedures above and they both work for me.  If needed, MNN also has a very good help page which includes Mac issues.  It can be accessed at :  <http://www.mnn.org/help/webstreams>
