The Hotmail feature that allows Hotmail messages to appear in Outlook Express is in "beta", which means that service and support for this feature is limited.

>>> To get started with Hotmail Offline

1. In Outlook Express, on the "Tools" menu, click "Accounts".
2. In the "Internet Accounts" dialog box, click the "Add" button.
3. Click "Mail" to open the Internet Connection Wizard, and then follow the instructions to configure your existing Hotmail account. You need only your Hotmail sign-in name and password.

>>> To add a Hotmail account manually

1. If you don't have a Hotmail account, sign up for one at:
http://www.hotmail.com/
2. In Outlook Express, on the "Tools" menu, click "Accounts".
3. Click "Add" and then click "Mail".
4. Type your name and click "Next".
5. Type the e-mail address of your Hotmail account (such as "oebeta@hotmail.com") and click "Next".
6. On the "My incoming mail server is" menu, select "HTTP". This means that the version of Outlook Express that you're using supports Hotmail accounts.
-or-
If "HTTP" is not available on the "My mail service provider is" menu, select "Other".
7. In the "Incoming Mail Server" box, type:
http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp

10. Click "Finish". The new account is:
http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp

>>> To rename a Hotmail account

1. In the "Internet Accounts" dialog box, select the account and click "Properties". This name appears under "Mail Accounts".
2. Type a new name (such as "Hotmail").
3. Click "OK", and then click "Close" to close the "Internet Accounts" dialog box. You will see the newly created account in the folder list.
